Community Opportunity October 24th - Show UNITY and Support the Gretna Backpack Program

Gretna Public Schools Foundation Hosts CommUNITY OpportUNITY Tailgate and Food Drive

The Gretna Public Schools Foundation, with support from the District, will host the CommUNITY OpportUNITY Tailgate and Food Drive on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the Gretna High School Football Stadium. The event is designed to bring the community together in support of families within Gretna Public Schools.

The driving force behind this event is the Weekend Backpack Program, launched and funded by the Foundation. This program currently serves 75 families, providing food and essential items to Gretna students who need a little extra support each week.

All community members attending the Battle of 370 Football Game are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate. All donations will directly support the Weekend Backpack Program.

Event Highlights

  • Touch-a-Truck Experience featuring vehicles from the Nebraska State Patrol and Sarpy County Sheriff’s Department.

  • Hy-Vee Tailgate Meals available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the Backpack Program.

  • Gretna Booster and PTO Marketplace offering spirit gear and merchandise.

  • Battle of 370 Football Game between Gretna High and Gretna East.
